چکیده
Duplex stainless steels are used to replace austenitic in industrial applications, especially the chemical industry where corrosion resistance chloride-containing media is an important requirement. According literature, niobium has a great influence on transformation of phases these (ferrite, austenite and sigma). Given interest evaluating this property terms wear material, aim study was evaluate effect formation austenitic-ferritic steel SEW 410 Nr 1.4517 after heat treatment at 850ºC for 15, 30 60 minutes. The contents studied were 0.2; 0.5 1.5 wt%. Measurements microhardness, electrochemical tests saline solution containing 3.5% sodium chloride carried out. results show that increase content sigma phase leads hardness resistance, associated with decrease potential. Therefore, use austeno-ferritic recommended when factor be considered.

Kinetics of Sigma Phase Formation In a Duplex Stainless Steel
This work determines the kinetics of sigma phase formation in UNS S31803 Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS), describing the phase transformations that occur in isothermal aging between 700 and 900 °C for time periods up to 1032 hours, allowing the determination of the Time-Temperature-Precipitation (TTP) diagram for sigma phase and proposing a model to predict the kinetics of sigma phase formation us...
متن کاملPHASE TRANSFORMATION DURING WEAR OF AISI STAINLESS STEEL 316
Abstract: Austenitic stainless steels exhibit a low hardness and weak tribological properties. The wear behaviour of austenitic stainless steel AISI 316 was evaluated through the pin on disc tribological method. For investigating the effect of wear on the changes in microstructure and resistance to wear, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscope were used. The hardness of the worn...
متن کاملLow-Temperature Mechanical Behavior of Super Duplex Stainless Steel with Sigma Precipitation
Experimental studies in various aspects have to be conducted to maintain stable applications of super duplex stainless steels (SDSS) because the occurrence rate of sigma phase, variable temperature and growth direction of sigma phase can influence mechanical performances of SDSS. Tensile tests of precipitated SDSS were performed under various temperatures to analyze mechanical and morphological...
متن کاملPrecipitation sequence in niobium-alloyed ferritic stainless steel
Niobium is an important alloying element in the design of heat-resistant ferritic stainless steels for automotive exhaust systems. When in solid solution, it improves both the high temperature strength and the resistance to thermal fatigue. However, it also forms several kinds of precipitates during service. These reactions have been modelled, taking into account the multicomponent nature of th...
متن کاملExperimental Quantification of Phase Transformation in Austenitic Stainless Steel
This conference paper briefly discusses different techniques for measuring the evolution of the martensite content in cold-rolled stainless steel 301LN sheets under mechanical loading. Three methods are employed to measure the martensite content: (1) micrography, (2) bulk magnetic induction, and (3) local magnetic permeability measurements. The first two methods require the extraction of sample...
